The Fredericksburg High School Visual Arts Program includes Art 1, 2, 3, 4, AP 2D Art and Design, AP Drawing, and AP 3D Art and Design classes. In addition, the program has many opportunities for extracurricular participation through art exhibitions, competitions, and induction into the National Art Honor Society (NAHS). Our competitions include San Antonio Stock Show and Rodeo Western Art Competition, the Visual Art Scholastic Event (VASE), the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, the NAHS Member Juried Exhibition, and the Congressional Art Contest, among other opportunities.

In the past four years, since Mrs. Elliott joined FHS, the program has won many awards including four Western Art Champions, multiple State VASE Medalists, multiple Scholastic Gold Key and Silver Key Winners, and three Congressional Art Contest Winners. In this time, students have also earned $124,000 in scholarships and cash premiums directly from art participation.
